What is TGT? TGT stands for Trained Graduate Teacher. It is a designation given to teachers who have completed their graduation and a two-year professional teacher training course, such as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). TGT teachers are eligible to teach classes 6 to 10 in schools in India.
TGT QUALIFICATION: The following are the minimum qualifications required to become a TGT teacher:
A bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized university A B.Ed. degree from a recognized university In addition to the above qualifications, some schools may also require TGT teachers to have a postgraduate degree in their subject of specialization.
WHAT CLASSES DOES A TGT TEACHER TEACH? TGT teachers are eligible to teach classes 6 to 10 in schools in India. They can teach a variety of subjects, including:
English Hindi Mathematics Science Social studies Computer science Sanskrit Other specialized subjects, such as commerce, home science, and physical education
TGT TEACHER SALARY:
The salary of a TGT teacher varies depending on the type of school they work in (government or private), their experience, and their qualifications. According to UP Government: Pay Scale:- Trained Graduate Teacher Cadre 44900-142400, Pay Level 7, Grade Pay 4600
TGT SYLLABUS: The TGT syllabus is different for each subject and is prescribed by the respective state or central board of education. However, the general syllabus for TGT teachers includes the following topics:
CONTENT KNOWLEDGE: TGT teachers must have a thorough knowledge of the subject they are teaching. They must also be able to break down complex concepts into simpler terms for their students to understand.
Pedagogical Skills: TGT teachers must have strong pedagogical skills, such as lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment. They must also be able to use a variety of teaching methods to cater to the different learning styles of their students.
Professional Ethics: TGT teachers must adhere to professional ethics, such as being respectful of their students, maintaining confidentiality, and avoiding discrimination.
IS THE TGT EXAM CONDUCTED EVERY YEAR? The TGT exam is conducted every year by various state and central government agencies. The frequency of the exam may vary from state to state. For example, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) exam twice a year, while the Uttar Pradesh government conducts the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) exam once a year.
IS THERE AN INTERVIEW IN TGT? Whether or not there is an interview in TGT depends on the school or recruitment agency. Some schools may conduct interviews to assess the candidate’s teaching skills and personality, while others may not.
HOW TO BECOME A TGT TEACHER: To become a TGT teacher, you must first complete your graduation and a two-year professional teacher training course, such as a B.Ed. degree. Once you have completed your education and training, you can start applying for TGT jobs in schools.
(i) First 15 minutes are allotted to the candidates for reading the question paper. (ii) All questions are compulsory. (iii) This question paper is divided into two parts: Part-A and Part-B. (iv) Part-A consists of 20 multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark each. (v) Read the question-wise instructions and mark your answer on the given OMR sheet. Do not erase, cut or use whitener on the OMR sheet. (vi) Part-B consists of descriptive type questions. (vii) Marks are indicated against each question.
